There’s an entire couple of niches in fishing geared around catching tiny fish and multi-species catching as many different species as possible.
He might be targeting a very small fish known to be in this area.
Tanago fishing is a niche from Japan that focuses in catching a fish about the size of a silver dollar.
This site is the guy who brought much of this info into the mainstream in the US, though he will readily share the credit.
